Bravo Bulls, you Bristol breakers!

The Bulls quite simply did what they promised and they beat the Bristol Bears 31 – 17 in a Champions Cup match at Ashton Gate.

The pride of Pretoria scored four tries in the game and they especially caught fire in the second half after enjoying a half-time lead of 10 – 7.

Poor Bristol only knew one gear in the scrum (reverse gear) and the Bulls undoubtedly wielded the scepter in the fixed facets.

This again led to forward football possession and just after half-time the Pretorians’ backline also started to chat.

Harold Vorster came up with a great break or two, while Sergeal Petersen showed that there is no substitute for speed on the rugby field.

Devon Williams, who made a name for himself in the Lowveld with the Pumas, however, his masterful acceleration and defender trick sessions earned him the player of the match award.

But dear, even the hooker Jan-Hendrik Wessels had his ears flattened tonight on his way to the goal line after he intercepted the ball.

The victory solidified the Bulls’ place in the standings and they now have a clearer picture of what awaits them in Europe in the future.

Yes-no, tonight it was definitely points for Pretoria!
