De Kock’s bat flashes in IPL

Quinton de Kock excelled with his timing and batting in the Lucknow Super Giants’ 21-run win against the Punjab Kings at home on Saturday.

It was the Super Giants’ first win of the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

De Kock hit seven boundaries in his innings of 54 runs from 38 balls and he laid the foundation for Lucknow’s score of 199/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

He used the chop with great success and a few deliveries were raced past and over point to the boundary.

His six off the bowling of Kagiso Rabada – where quick joints were his biggest ally – will definitely be included in the YouTube highlight session of the match.

After that, 21-year-old Mayank Yadav pushed the speed needle into the red and made the Punjab batsmen flaunt his aggression.

One of his deliveries was measured at 155.8 km/h.

In today’s matches, Heinrich Klaasen’s Sunrisers Hyderabad take on David Miller’s Gujarat Titans, while the Delhi Capitals take on the Chennai Super Kings later.
