Dupont back for Bok fight

Antoine Dupont is back to lead France against the Springboks in Paris.

The French scrum-half cracked his cheekbone in a group stage match against Namibia, but after a successful operation he was given the green light to play again.

Matthieu Jalibert will be his link partner, with sharpshooter Thomas Ramos at full-back and three-press machine Damian Penaud on the right wing.

However, all eyes will be on the 26-year-old Dupont.

His acceleration on a rugby field is top notch, while his feel for the game also often puts his opponents under intense pressure. At the same time, he defends like a loose forward.

Dupont has already been named World Rugby’s player of the year, while his presence will give the fiery French a further boost.

“I feel good and my recovery process went as expected. I am physically and mentally ready for the match,” said the French talisman.

As already mentioned, however, the Roosters have a number of dangerous players and according to Faf de Klerk it would be stupid if the Goats only concentrate on one player.

“Antoine is a wonderful player and he gives France a lot of confidence on the rugby field. However, we are preparing to play against a team and not individual players. Personally, it’s always good to compete against the world’s best players,” said the Springbok number nine.
