Eskom has more good news

South Africans now enjoy 25 consecutive days without load shedding.

Eskom announced a short time ago that load shedding will remain suspended until further notice.

This good news is attributed to sustained generation capacity and sufficient emergency reserves, says the power supplier.

Unplanned power outages currently stand at 13,566 MW, while planned maintenance currently takes 5,507 MW out of the grid.

The expected demand during Sunday’s evening peak at this stage stands at 26,434 MW.

The power supplier plans to put 2,660 MW of generation capacity back into service by Monday evening and update the information or announce any significant changes if necessary by Friday evening.

RNews previously reported that the last time Eskom achieved a similar milestone was in June 2022 when the power supplier did not introduce load shedding for 20 consecutive days.
