Four more people were arrested for their alleged role in disturbances at the State Theater in Pretoria.

A total of nine suspects, one of whom is a former employee of the State Theatre, are now being criminally prosecuted for alleged money laundering, fraud and theft after R24 million found footing at the theater more than five years ago.

All nine suspects are expected to appear in the specialized commercial crime court in Pretoria on Wednesday, says col. Katlego Mogale, spokesperson for the Falcons.

RNews reported this morning that the case is related to alleged money laundering, fraud and theft that took place at the State Theater and which was already reported in November 2018.

According to the Falcons, two employees of the State Theater apparently disregarded supply chain processes to obtain money for their own gain. The two employees allegedly used letterheads of existing companies to create invoices without the knowledge of the actual companies, but changed the bank details to those of their family members, resulting in the theft of R24 million.
