Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner divorce turns sour
Game of Thrones ‘s Sophie Turner filed a summons against her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, to send the couple’s children back to England.
News about Joe (34) and Sophie’s (27) divorce came to light earlier this month, and although it initially appeared that the divorce would go smoothly, things between these two have now taken a sour turn.
According to the summons filed by Sophie on Thursday, their two children are being “wrongfully detained” in New York, USA. It further alleges that the couple decided in April this year that the children’s home would be in England, and that Joe “kidnapped” them.
The summons also indicates that Joe’s application for divorce was misleading, as it claimed that the two little girls had lived in Florida, USA for six months before the application was filed. The couple reportedly agreed that the children would fly to America in August to visit their father while he was on tour with his music group, the Jonas Brothers.
The document also indicates that Sophie and Joe met earlier this month to discuss the children and where they live, but Joe refused to hand over the children’s passports.
In response to the subpoena, Joe’s representative said that his “only concern is the children”. Joe also claims that he was under the impression that they had come to an agreement about the children, and that he and Sophie decided to handle the divorce and custody of the children in an amicable way.
He also denies Sophie’s claim that she found out about their divorce through the media and says that she was aware of it beforehand.
Sophie set the gossip tongues ablaze this week when she was photographed with Taylor Swift, one of Joe’s ex-girlfriends. It was the first time Sophie had been seen in public since the divorce came to light.
