‘Inlanders’ actor dies

Bradley Olivier, the Domesticsactor known for his role as Danny Jantjies, died today (Thursday) in the Life Flora hospital in Roodepoort.

The news was confirmed by Olivier (36)’s family. The family said on Wednesday that he was being kept alive by machines, but that there were no prospects for improvement.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bradley Terence Olivier.

“Although his life ended before we were ready, the time he was part of our lives is unforgettable and joyful. He brightened up every room he walked into with his smile, laugh and incredible personality,” the statement read.

Olivier made his TV debut in the soap opera in 2007 Villa Rosa made. He has since been involved in a variety of productions, including films, series, telenovelas, soap operas, on stage and radio.

He was a versatile actor and excelled in drama as well as comedy, and regularly charmed audiences as master of ceremonies.

“We remember Bradley for his legacy and the impact he had on all of our lives. Bradley will always live on in our hearts.

“We are grateful for the support they receive in this difficult time. Bradley touched so many lives and words cannot describe how much he will be missed.

“We also want to express our gratitude to the staff of Life Flora Hospital. Your compassionate and professional care was invaluable to us.”

The family has asked for privacy to mourn.

“We keep the family and friends of Bradley Olivier close in our thoughts today,” says Waldimar Pelser, M-Net’s director for Premium Channels.

“He was a beloved actor and valued member of the kykNET Domestics-family. His sudden demise is a great shock and tremendous loss to all who came in contact with him. Our hearts go out to his family, loved ones and friends.”

According to Elsje Stark, producer of Domesticsthe shock and sadness after Olivier’s sudden death is very difficult to process.

“He was still so young and such a beloved member of Domestics ‘s player corps. Any interaction with Bradley, whether it was on a professional or personal level, was always nothing but a joy. He played the character of Danny Jantjies for almost eight years with total dedication. We will miss him terribly and our hearts go out to his little daughter and other relatives.”
