A young Frenchman who spent just over a month in Norway was sentenced to 21 days in prison after he received no less than 25 speeding tickets in 19 days during his visit to this country.

The 23-year-old man, who according to local media traveled to Norway in search of work, broke the speed limit 25 times between February 6 and 25 this year.

The worst offense was on February 20 when he was caught behind the wheel of a Kia speeding 113 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

The daily newspaper Aftenposten reports that most of the Frenchman’s offenses were caught on speed cameras of which he was blissfully unaware.

However, the man made a full confession in the district court in Oslo and his sentence was consequently reduced by three days – from 24 to 21.

The man will also have to do without his driver’s license for a while after the court suspended it for a year. The man is a danger in traffic, the Oslo District Court found.
