An American woman with specific doomsday beliefs was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole on Monday for the murder of her two children and conspiracy to kill her husband’s ex-wife.
Lori Vallow was found guilty in May of this year for the murder of her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and adopted seven-year-old son Joshua “JJ” Vallow.
Vallow, who repeatedly argued that she is a goddess who must prepare humanity for the return of Christ, was sentenced in a court in the American state of Idaho.
Her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, the self-published author of several apocalyptic books, will soon be tried on similar charges, including the murder of his first wife, Tammy.
Vallow and Daybell reportedly used their religious beliefs to justify the murders and their story was told in Sins of our Mothera documentary series released on Netflix last year.
RNews previously reported that the case made headlines in late 2019 when Vallow’s children disappeared. Joshua’s grandparents first reported them missing.
The police’s investigation quickly took a macabre turn when it came to light that several people, connected to Vallow and Daybell, had died in the past few years. She was arrested a few months later in Hawaii.
Vallow’s third husband, Joseph Ryan (Tylee’s father), died of a heart attack in 2018.
She was divorcing her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, when he was shot dead by her brother (now deceased) in July 2019.
Daybell’s wife Tammy died in October 2019, apparently of natural causes.
A few weeks later Vallow and Daybell moved to Hawaii where they got married.
Vallow and Daybell never reported the children as missing and their bodies were found in June 2020 on Daybell’s property in Idaho.
