Lyon confuses Kiwis

Pat Cummins has praised Nathan Lyon and Cameron Green for their contributions in Australia’s big win against New Zealand in the first Test in Wellington.

The Aussies overwhelmed the Blackcaps by 172 runs; Lyon took ten wickets in the match while Green smashed 174 unbeaten runs in his side’s first innings.

“Cameron was incredible and his innings ended up being the difference between winning and losing. I was very impressed with his positive attitude and he put the bowlers under pressure on the first day’s play,” said Cummins.

Australia’s cricket captain also believes that Lyon deserves a big pat on the back.

New Zealand lost their last seven wickets for just 70 runs in the second innings and the spinner wreaked the greatest havoc among the batsmen.

“The pitch provided good bounce and spin and we are always grateful to have a player of Nathan’s quality in our eleven.”

The second Test in the series starts in Christchurch on Friday.
