South Africa A may have won the one-day cricket series against Sri Lanka A, but the team has the upper hand in the multi-day match in Pallekele.

On a spinner-friendly pitch, the home team were bowled out for 325 runs in their first innings. Lasith Croospulle performed best with the bat with his 98 runs, while Senuran Muthusamy excelled with his seven wickets.

After that, the South African batsmen struggled against the spin bowling of Lakshitha Manasinghe.

The breakaway bowler boasts a bowling analysis of 5/19 and he got rid of the last five visiting batsmen in the blink of an eye.

Matthew Breetzke waged a one-man war against the Sri Lankan bowlers with his unbeaten fifty, but only Keegan Petersen (19) and Dewald Brevis (16) could score more than ten runs.

The South Africans were bowled out for only 131 runs and will have to climb a pretty steep hill if they want to erase the deficit of 194 runs.

Sri Lanka A 325/10 in 83 overs: Lasith Croospulle 98, Ramesh Mendis 78 and Senuran Muthusamy 7/122.

South Africa A 131/10 in 40 overs: Matthew Breetzke 59*, Dilshan Madushanka 3/31 and Lakshitha Manasinghe 5/19.
