A 41-year-old mother and her two young children were found dead at their home in the Wierda Glen estate, Centurion, on Monday.

According to col. Dimakatso Sello, police spokesperson, no foul play is suspected as the police also came across a suicide note which is believed to have been written by the mother, Billie-Jean Joubert.

“It is claimed that the victims died due to the inhalation of gas – which was deliberately open -,” says Sello.

Joubert had to surrender her husband, Deon (37), the father of her two children, Dylan (6) and Robyn (4), to death in March 2020 after he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma cancer in 2019.

With inquiries from RNews, a family member of the victims asked for space “so that the family can come to terms with the tragic loss”.

An inquest was started by the police in Wierdabrug.
