Novak Djokovic made tennis history this past weekend when he beat a courageous Casper Ruud in the final of the French Open at Roland-Garros.

His Paris success means that he now has 23 Grand Slam titles to his name – the most among men’s players.

Needless to say, the tributes poured in and Gary Player was among the celebrities who congratulated Djokovic on his success.

“It is undoubtedly a remarkable achievement and he now ranks among the greatest names of all time – in any sport. Just like (Jack) Nicklaus and (Michael) Jordan,” said the South African golf legend.

In addition to his string of Grand Slam titles, Djokovic has also won the final of ATP 1,000 tournaments 38 times, while he has been at the top of the international rankings for 387 weeks.

He dethroned Carlos Alcaraz on the ATP rankings just this week.

Rafael Nadal believes Djokovic makes tennis dreams come true.

“A few years ago it was almost impossible to think of 23 (titles), but you did it! Enjoy it with your family and team!” tweeted the Spaniard.
