“Life is not funny.”
What would happen if a guardian angel hadn’t protected someone in years? And what would happen if a little boy noticed an angel without wings outside his window during a stormy night?
Marietjie de Jongh’s beloved children’s book Braam and the angel has been adapted for the stage as a theatrical experience for the whole family. This production takes the viewer on a journey in a story about the power of friendship and hope. It is in the brokenness of another that you can gain perspective on your own life.
Children, who came to see the production at the Woordfees in Stellenbosch with their parents, were amazed at the little Braam who comes alive on stage with the help of several actors – almost like Pinnochio.
The set design and technical care are excellent. The physical abilities of the actors also deserve special mention.
A standing ovation for the cast was well deserved.
Braam and the angel show at the Word Festival in Stellenbosch and can still be seen on Saturday (09:00) and Sunday (10:00. Buy your tickets here.
