Eskom says phase 3 load shedding will last until Monday 05:00 due to the shortage of generation capacity and the need to manage emergency reserves.
Phase 2 will then be implemented on Monday from 05:00 to 16:00, followed by phase 3 until 05:00 on Tuesday. Phases 1 and 3 will be applied on Tuesday and Wednesday alternately in the morning and afternoon.

Unplanned power outages currently stand at 16,264 MW due to, among other things, delays in the return of units at the Lethabo power station. A total of 6,606 MW is also currently shut down for planned maintenance.
Eskom says it is expected that approximately 3,700 MW of generating capacity will be back in service by Tuesday evening. “Eskom’s teams are working tirelessly to ensure that these additional generation units are put back into service as soon as possible.”
