Photos: New Miss. SA crowned this coming Sunday


After weeks of grueling elimination rounds and a challenging reality series, the top 7 finalists who this year will be at the finals of the Miss. SA competition will participate, named this week.

Anke Rothmann, Bryoni Govender, Homba Mazaleni, Jordan van der Vyver, Melissa Nayimuli, Nande Mabala and Natasha Joubert will compete in the final at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria this coming Sunday (August 13) to become the new Miss. SA to be crowned.

In the past month, the public had the opportunity to get to know these finalists better in the Miss. SA beauty pageant’s own reality show Crown Chasers – which is free on Sundays on the Miss. SA-app and SABC3 were broadcast.

Here, the top 12’s entrepreneurial and business skills were properly put to the test in front of the cameras.

Natasha Joubert, a former Miss. SA finalist, won three out of the five challenges put to finalists. This is the second time that the brunette beauty has won the coveted Miss. Chasing SA title after she was announced as the second runner-up in 2020 and represented her country at the Miss. Represented Universe competition.

Keaoleboga Nkashe (27) from Itsoseng in North West is the fifth finalist to be sent home in Sunday evening’s delivery.

“Although it is disappointing to be voted out and it is not the outcome I prayed for, I believe that setbacks like these are opportunities for growth and learning. I really believe in the motto ‘rejection is often redirection,'” Nkashe said of her experience.

Bonang Matheba, a radio and TV personality and Crown Chasers-judge, will present this year at the Miss. performing in the SA final.

Matheba, who has a long association with Miss. SA hosted the pageant for its 60th anniversary in 2018 and returned in 2019 when Zozibini Tunzi won the title and later became Miss. Universe is crowned.

Her House of BNG Cap Classique is also one of the official sponsors at this year’s Miss. SA competition.
