Kensington Palace said on Monday that Catherine, Princess of Wales, is recuperating at Windsor Castle after stomach surgery.

The British princess (42), wife of Prince William, was admitted to hospital about two weeks ago for a planned operation. However, the exact nature of the operation is not known.

“She is making good progress,” said the statement issued on Monday.

The princess spent a total of 13 nights in the hospital. She has not been seen in public since Christmas Day last year.

“The prince and princess would like to express their sincere thanks to the London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they provided.”

William and Catherine also expressed their gratitude for the thousands of get-well messages the princess received from all over the world.

Catherine was admitted to the same private hospital as her father-in-law, King Charles III (75), who visited her before undergoing a procedure for an enlarged prostate on Friday.

According to a previous statement, the princess is expected to resume her public duties only in April this year.

“The Princess of Wales apologizes to anyone affected by the postponement of her duties. She looks forward to resuming her duties as soon as possible.”
