‘Ramaphosa doesn’t seem to know what Dricus and SA know’

The statements that Dricus du Plessis made about the South African government are something that most citizens know, but apparently Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa does not.

Dr. Pieter Groenewald, FF Plus leader, used the opportunity during Tuesday’s debate on the State of the Union speech in the Cape Town City Hall to attack Ramaphosa for not congratulating Du Plessis on his world title.

“You congratulated the Springboks and some other good achievements at world level. But you neglected to congratulate Dricus du Plessis, a world champion. This is pettiness of you, because he actually criticized what most people know about South Africa, but apparently you don’t.”

Groenewald also took the opportunity to congratulate Du Plessis on his title of middleweight world champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

During an interview before his fight, Du Plessis said that the South African government is the weakest in the world and also the most corrupt. He went on to say that there are many people who are doing very good work to save the country, but that the government persists in screwing it up.

Zizi Kodwa, Minister of Sports, Art and Culture, then responded by saying that Du Plessis’s statements were “very regrettable”.

Du Plessis also said during the interview that South Africa is a wonderful country with wonderful people, but “we only have a very (censored expletive) government”.
