Reality series beckons for Baldwins despite looming prison sentence

Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, announced on Tuesday that a new reality series about their family will air in 2025.

The Baldwins will focus on the everyday life of Alec, Hilaria and their brood of seven: Carmen Gabriela (10), Rafael Thomas (8), Leonardo Ángel Charles (7), Romeo Alejandro David (5), Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas (3 ), Maria Lucia Victoria (3) and Ilaria Catalina Irena (19 months).

The series will be broadcast by TLC.

Baldwin (66) will soon appear in court on charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of a cinematographer on the set of the film rest. The actor still pleads not guilty.

However, should a jury find him guilty, he could be sentenced to up to 18 months in prison.

“Home is the place we love the most. We are the Baldwins and we are coming to TLC,” says the father of the family in a short teaser on social media and says they are giving viewers a close look at their life as a family of nine in this reality series.

According to People the series has been planned since last November.

Shockwaves hit Hollywood in 2021 when it was revealed that Baldwin, a producer of rest and actor in the lead role, presumably pulled the trigger while handling a firearm.

However, he strongly denies that he fired the shots and maintains that he was not responsible for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The gun keeper who loaded the weapon was sentenced to 18 months in prison by an American court in April this year.

The news of the new series elicited a mixed reaction on social media. Some welcomed the series while others pointed out how close the release date is to the lawsuit.

Some have also said that the series will depict a “sanitized” version of a darling Hollywood star’s life.

“If it’s a reality series, you have to show things people never see, like who looks after your kids,” one Lee-Ann wrote on Instagram, pointing to the number of babysitters employed by the Baldwins.

The Emmy-winning actor was previously married to actress Kim Basinger, and they have a 28-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin.
