RG back on training ground again

Good news for Munster and the Springboks: RG Snyman is back on the training field. The Irish club confirmed the news on social media.

The 29-year-old lock suffered a shoulder injury in the World Cup final between South Africa and New Zealand at the Stade de France and he was on the operating table in November.

Munster will play next Friday against Scarlets in a United Rugby Championship match and one does not know if coach Graham Rowntree will select him immediately.

But a number of Munster players – including Peter O’Mahony and Jack Crowley – are part of Ireland’s Six Nations squad and a player with international experience is always invaluable to any team.

The Irish club has said before that Snyman is a very popular player in his group, but a series of injuries hampered the Springbok’s run-out sessions.

He has since been snapped up by Jacques Nienaber and he will make the move to Leinster next season.

The South African will therefore be persuaded to end his Munster career on a high note.
