Rose excited to work with Felix

Felix Jones officially becomes part of England’s coaching set-up. He was appointed as the Rose’s defensive specialist.

The Springboks initially engaged the former Ireland full-back as a defense consultant in 2019, after which he was appointed as an assistant coach a short time later.

Jones’ time at the Boks certainly helped to color his rugby testimonial: Who needs any references when you can simply attach a photo of your World Cup winners’ medals?

SA Rugby already confirmed in March 2023 that it will part ways with Jones.

“It is a big blow to lose a coach of Felix’s quality,” Rassie Erasmus said at the time.

“He has been an asset to the Springboks over the past few years and the way in which he has grown in his role and accepted additional responsibilities has been admirable.”

According to Steve Borthwick, Jones’ experience is a definite asset.

“I am very excited to work with Felix. As a coach he has an incredible reputation and he has a lot of experience on the international stage. He can take our team to greater heights – especially when you consider his background with Ireland and his knowledge of Southern Hemisphere teams,” said the England knitter.
