Ryan Gosling’s ‘Kenergy’ is spreading like wildfire on social media

Even Ryan Gosling is surprised that his song, “I’m Just Ken”, picked up a prize at the Critics Choice awards event.

This 43-year-old actor, who plays Ken in Greta Gerwig’s award-winning movie, Barbie, performed, looked around in amazement as the winner of the Best Original Song category was announced. This reaction spread like wildfire on social media, with many people saying that he looked exactly like his character in the movie.

“I’m Just Ken” came out with two other songs Barbie ‘s soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?” and “Dance the Night”, competition. “What Was I Made For?” was written by Billie Eilish, and was awarded a Golden Globe for best original song last week.

Other songs also nominated in the category include “Peaches”, written for The Super Mario Bros.Lenny Kravitz’s “Road to Freedom”, written for Quietand Julia Michaels’ “The Wish”, written for Disney’s Wish.

“I’m Just Ken” was penned by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.

“Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as it is ours,” Ronson said during their acceptance speech.

“You made the audience fall in love with the song with your performance, thank you!”

Barbie ended up receiving five awards at the event, including prizes for best comedy, best screenplay, production design, costumes, and hair and makeup, among others. The movie was nominated in a total of 18 categories.
