SA beauty crowned Miss Thai World

Tharina Botes, who in 2018 made the top 12 of the Miss. South Africa competition, on Sunday evening in Bangkok, Thailand, as Miss. Thailand World designated.

The event took place at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. Warangkhana Sirisathaphornsap and Ploiwarin Saenchai were chosen as the first and second princesses respectively.

Botes (26), originally from the West Rand, was the runner-up of the Miss. Thailand World Competition named.

Botes has South African and Thai citizenship. She grew up in Roodepoort and matriculated at Monument High School. She also obtained a BCom degree in economics from the University of South Africa (Unisa).

“Dreams come true. You should never stop chasing what’s in your heart,” Botes wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you to all my friends, family and fans who are always by my side. We finally did it. All glory to God.”

Botes is expected to represent Thailand at the Miss pageant later this year. World competition act. Bryoni Govender will participate in this competition on behalf of South Africa.
