It doesn’t look like Jannik Sinner’s momentum train will be derailed anytime soon. The 22-year-old player is also now the tennis champion of Rotterdam after beating Alex de Minaur 7-5 and 6-4 for the silverware.

It was his 15th win in a row and the triumph means that he will now take third place in the official ATP rankings; a first for an Italian player.

Sinner now overwhelmed his Australian opponent with his aggressive and pure stroke play and he hit 23 winning shots to clinch the match in just over two hours.

According to the Australian Open champion – he collected his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne in January – his team did a good job again.

“I am very proud of my performances. We were in some difficult situations and we handled them in the right way. Still, I will always try to improve; it’s one of the most important aspects of the game for me,” Sinner said.

In addition to his 15 wins in a row, the Italian can also add some fun reading statistics to his testimonial: He has won 32 of his last 34 matches and in that time he has only lost against Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic.
