Although the power supplier had previously confirmed that phase 2 load shedding would be in our foreland on Sunday, it was decided on Saturday afternoon that phase 4 would be in effect almost all of Sunday.
“Following the loss of four more generating units on Saturday and the requirement to top up emergency reserves, phase 4 load shedding will apply until Sunday 16:00,” says Eskom spokesperson Menzi Mngomezulu.
Eskom will publish a further update on Sunday afternoon.
