Stefanos shows his steel on clay

Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the top clay court players on the international stage and the Greek star beat Zhang Zhizhen at a run in Paris.

The final score was 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1 in favor of the Athens native.

Tsitsipas moved effortlessly around the court and he put his Chinese opponent under constant pressure with aggressive shots.

“I think I served up flowing tennis today and I was able to hit the ball well. At the same time, I am also very happy with my decision making on the course and the placement of my shots. It feels good if you were able to deliver such a performance,” he said.

It was Tsitsipas’ 27th win of the season and he has now hit 30 wins against Zhizhen.

He will face Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in the next round of the French Open.

Then Carlos Alcaraz also showed that the injury poker is a thing of the past when he beat Sebastian Korda in clean sets.

The final score was 6-4, 7-6 and 6-3 in favor of the young Spaniard.

Alcaraz missed a few tournaments in the run-up to the tennis action in Paris with an arm injury, but he again fired on all cylinders against Korda.

“At one point I just forgot about all my injury worries and hit my forehands like always. I’ve missed those shots a lot lately,” he said.
