Strickland complains about head butting session

It normally doesn’t help much to complain about things done, but this touch of wisdom did not stop Sean Strickland in his tracks from expressing his displeasure with the outcome of this past weekend’s title fight on social media.

South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis now boasts the UFC middleweight title after the fight officials ruled in his favour.

“We all know that I actually won the fight,” Strickland shared on X, formerly Twitter.

According to the 32-year-old American, he was on the receiving end of a headbutting session with Du Plessis.

He later had to regularly wipe blood from his eye and he had to do his best to stop the South African’s attack.

“The only reason you took a round away from me is because I couldn’t see,” Strickland continued on Instagram as he attached a video insert of the alleged headbutting session.

Medical staff should also have known their story – according to the California native – to suture the wound.

“I could have taken the easy way out and informed the doctor that I was having trouble seeing out of my eye. The whole world knows that I actually won and that title will never make you a real champion.”

And Du Plessis’s reaction?

“Why don’t you just cry about it again?” the new middleweight champion replied on Instagram.
