Suspect arrested after Klerksdorp assault

The North-West Police have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault incident in a parking lot in Klerksdorp.

Col. Police spokeswoman Adele Myburgh said the 33-year-old man is expected to appear in court today on charges of attempted murder and assault with intent to seriously injure.

A video of the incident has spread like wildfire on social media in the past few days.

The video shows two men lying motionless in a pool of blood in the parking lot of a shopping center in Doringkruin in the city. It was not clear from the video what exactly led to the incident.

The incident was reported at 1.25pm ​​on Sunday.

“According to information, there was someone who assaulted two men. The one victim is 32 years old and was admitted to a local hospital with serious brain damage,” says Myburgh.

The other victim filed a case with the Klerksdorp police.
