Teacher killed for cell phone

A teacher from Botshabelo in the Free State died after miscreants robbed him of his mobile phone on Friday and stabbed him several times with a sharp object.

Frederick Fezile Mnyobisi’s (35) wife rushed him to a hospital. However, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

Mnyobisi, a teacher at Refihlele Primary School in Botshabelo, was robbed of his green Samsung Galaxy A04 near the Sechaba Se Maketse Combined School, also in Botshabelo, before being stabbed several times with a sharp object.

Lt. Col. Thabo Covane, police spokesperson, says the hospital called the police after the attack after Mnyobisi’s wife took him there.

“The police, together with the district doctor, examined the victim’s body and noticed that the body had multiple stab wounds. The district physician declared the victim dead.”

A case of murder has since been filed at the Botshabelo police station.

The police are now appealing to the public to send any information that may lead to the arrest of the killer(s) to Sgt. Pakiso Elias Maja at 082 466 8341.
