This is what the ‘final’ load shedding schedule looks like

After many phase changes, Eskom has finally issued an official schedule for load shedding for the rest of the working week.

The power supplier says, as it previously announced, phase 2 load shedding will still be in effect until 05:00 on Thursday.

After that, phase 1 will last for five hours until 10:00, after which load shedding will be suspended until 16:00.

Phase 2 load shedding will then be introduced until 05:00 on Friday.

The alternating load-shedding phases will be repeated throughout Friday until Saturday morning, after which Eskom will announce the load-shedding schedule for the weekend.

A total of 13,250 MW in generation units are unavailable due to breakdowns, while 7,921 MW are given over to planned maintenance.

“Eskom’s teams will continue to work diligently to ensure that the generation capacity of 1,340 MW is put back into service by Friday,” the power supplier said.

“In the meantime, the power grid will be closely monitored and any changes will be announced.”
