Two persons, a 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Deon Nel (30), who was kidnapped on Thursday in Wolmaransstad in the North West.

Brig. Sabata Mokgwabone, spokesperson for the police, says the two persons were arrested on Friday at a house in Randlespark, Klerksdorp.

“The team investigating the kidnapping, various police units and private security companies, led them to the house.”

Nel was reported missing after he failed to turn up at home after visiting a local bar. “The investigation was later changed to a complaint of kidnapping when a ransom was demanded for his release.”

Nel’s belongings, including a watch, clothes, a hat, bank and ID cards as well as a mobile phone, were found in the house in Randlespark. “There were also blood stains in the house.”

A third suspect is also being questioned.

“The investigation including the search for Mr. Nel and his Mazda Drifter vehicle continue.”
