The police in Gauteng and Limpopo are investigating two separate family tragedies that occurred on Monday.
In the incident in Gauteng, a father, daughter and son from Evaton, Sebokeng, were arrested in connection with the murder of their wife and mother.
According to col. Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, police spokesperson, the father called the police on Monday and came across the woman’s mutilated body. The three family members apparently claimed that their wife and mother were “possessed” and that they mutilated her for that reason.
The suspects, respectively 61, 26 and 24 years old, will soon appear in court on charges of murder.
In Limpopo, a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of his mother, sister and a young nephew.
According to col. Malesela Ledwaba, police spokesperson, said the police were called to the Breda settlement in Gilead outside Mokopane on Monday where they found the bodies of Johanna Seanego (59), Matome Seanego (19) and Tebogo Mashilo Seanego (10). They were hacked to death with an axe.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on three charges of murder.
