Undefeated Blitzbokke through to cup quarter-finals

The Blitzbokke finished the first day of the Dubai sevens tournament undefeated after settling with Samoa, Canada and New Zealand.

The South Africans saved the best for last when they came up with an excellent fight back against the Kiwis to win an action-packed game 21 – 19.

Selvyn Davids’ team was not afraid of a half-time deficit of 19 – 7 and they scored 14 unanswered points in the second half.

Ronald Brown scored the first of the Blitzboks’ two tries after the break, while he was also in the spot with an important goal kick attempt after Masande Mtshali fooled the New Zealand defenders.
