The cream of the South African film and TV industry gathered at the Cape Town International Convention Center (KIKS) on Saturday evening to celebrate the 11th kykNET Silver Screen Festival Awards.
This film festival has been taking place in Kampsbaai since Wednesday. Filmmakers, storytellers and artists who worked in front of and behind the scenes were honored for their work in the Afrikaans entertainment industry during a grand event.
The Domestics-actress Cindy Swanepoel and the Frankie and Felipe-star Solomon Cupido were the presenters of the event. Cindy also won the award for best actress in a telenovela or soap opera.

Nicole Holm, Devonecia Swartz, Bianca Flanders, Nataniël, Riaan van Heerden, Roeline Daneel, Alfred Adriaan and Bertus Basson are also a handful of celebrities who have been honoured.
An emotional Freek Robinson received a special award for his life contribution and pioneering work as a journalist in the South African news landscape.
Cedwin Joel, the iconic actor known for his role in the kykNET soap opera Southeast also received an award for lifetime contribution to the African entertainment industry.
