Video: TiNo sings love song at Voortrekker Monument

TiNo exchanged the acorn trees of Stellenbosch for the Jacaranda trees of Pretoria, but at least only for one music video.

This 21-year-old Cape singer made a trip to Pretoria to shoot the music video for his new single, “Seasons”, at the Voortrekker Monument.

“I’m dying for a love song,” he says about this new song, which was actually written for two girls.

“The first two months are for one girl, and the last for another girl,” he admits.

The song uses the different seasons of a year to describe these two girls. He feels honored to be able to shoot the music video of this song not only in Pretoria, but at the Voortrekker Monument, although he has never visited the monument himself.

Yet, when he saw the imposing monument on the hill, he immediately felt a warm feeling in his heart.

“It is a very special place, with a great, special history. Just being able to put my feet down here is special.”

He goes on to say that he has already read and learned so much about the monument, and that it is a privilege for him to now be able to see this historic building in person.

Although Cape blood flows through his veins, he enjoys packing his bags now and then and venturing the long way to Pretoria.

He describes Gauteng residents as happy, but quick people. An adjustment when he compares them to the tranquility of the Capetians he is used to.

Still, he enjoys the rush and even considers moving to the city of Jakaranda one day.

“The people here are nice!”
