A homeless woman was allegedly raped and murdered by two men in Brakpan on Friday evening.

The woman’s (24) body was found in Springsweg in Brakpan by passers-by. Her body was spotted in the road around 8.30pm.

Charl Bronkhorst from Secure Tech security says the suspects were arrested 250 m from the murder scene in Glouchester Street.

“Earlier in the evening, the two suspects pointed a firearm at a pedestrian and stole his wallet and mobile phone. The pedestrian did not suffer any injuries,” said Bronkhorst.

One of the suspects was arrested two years ago by the security company – also on charges of murder. It is unknown whether this person was actually found guilty of murder.

Bronkhorst says Secure Tech was on a mass patrol in the area when they received a call from police about the body in the road.

“A firearm, a pickaxe with blades and a knife were found in the suspects’ possession. We suspect that the victim lived in the area.”
