Loads of new viewing material on the way

Fans of Netflix’s hit series The Crown have more British royal viewing material to look forward to.

Scoopa new movie about Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, promises to lift the lid on the prince’s sensational 2019 interview with the BBC news programme, Newsnight.

Prince Andrew’s appearance on this program was allegedly intended to dispel the growing investigation into his relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as well as allegations that he had sex with a minor.

However, the now famous interview with presenter Emily Maitlis was labeled as “disastrous” when it was broadcast in November 2019 and made headlines worldwide.

Prince Andrew has been seen little since and was relieved of his military honors and royal patronage due to his involvement with Epstein.

A trailer for Scoop was issued this week and shows how Gillian Anderson, who Margaret Thatcher in The Crown starred, playing the role of Maitlis, while Rufus Sewell steps into the prince’s controversial shoes.

In addition Scoop are trailers for the long awaited Wicked-film, as well as a teaser of the third installment in the Marvel superhero series Deadpoolalso introduced.

Where the appearance of Hugh Jack’s Wolverine Deadpool 3 was warmly welcomed Wickedwhich is based on the Broadway musical of the same name, drew widespread criticism from fans.

The film’s lighting and special effects were especially criticized on social media and described as “dull, flat and weak”, among other things.

Wicked however, boasts celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh and Jonathan Bailey, known for his role in Bridgertonin the cast and will be seen on the big screen in November.

Marvel set fans’ hearts racing on Valentine’s Day when it shared a cartoon poster on social media to announce the actors in the new installment of The Fantastic Four will be seen.

Pascal Pedro, Vanessa Kirby, known for her role as Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of The CrownJoseph Quinn of Stranger Things-fame and The Bearstar Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play the roles of astronauts who develop special powers.

Beyoncé returns to country roots

Although many eyes were on Taylor Swift and her American football player boyfriend at this year’s National Football League (NFL) Superbowl, another female musician also attracted attention.

American singer Beyoncé released the second part of her best-selling album, Renaissanceannounced in an NFL commercial and immediately after that two country songs, titled “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages”, were released.

Born in Houston, Texas, USA, the singer’s choice to trade her signature RnB style for country has apparently surprised fans.

However, according to experts, the album’s country style is the singer’s way of returning to her country roots.

A music video with the lyrics of “Texas Hold ‘Em” already has more than 1.3 million hits on YouTube.

Elton John items up for auction soon

Christie’s auction house will soon offer an auction with items worth $10 million (about R190 million) from British music icon Elton John’s former residence in Atlanta in the USA.

It is expected that these items, which include shiny boots from 1971 and a pair of his signature sunglasses, will sell for between $5 000 (R95 000) and $10 000 (R190 000) each.

A Yamaha grand piano, on which the hitmaker’s own fingers danced, is also for sale for nearly $50,000.

Saltburn-actor finds new love

Barry Keoghan, the Irish actor known for his role in the dark comedy Saltburn,’s heart may now be singing a new tune.

E! News reports Keoghan and the American singer, Sabrina Carpenter, are allegedly in a relationship after paparazzi photographers recently spotted the celebrities together in Los Angeles.

Keoghan and Carpenter met in September last year during a Paris fashion week and have apparently been inseparable ever since.

Keoghan and his girlfriend of four years, Alyson Kierans, parted ways last year just months after the birth of their first child, Brando.
