Leandry Smith, the junior mayor of Tshwane and a learner at Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria, recorded a special message for the youth to celebrate Youth Day.
In the video message, she asks young people to define their country by friends, family and unity rather than just a mere flag, song or motto.
“We are all on this journey together and therefore we must create hope for the future.
“That’s why we have to hand out little bottles of love and little bottles of care to all people every day,” says Leandry.
