Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie made only one change to his starting team for Saturday’s Currie Cup final against the Pumas.

Nqobisizwe Moxoli replaces Schalk van der Merwe, who is out with concussion. The final kicks off on Saturday at 16:00 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. The match is preceded by the women’s teams of the Free State and SWD Eagles, who play at 12:00.

The Cheetahs play in their 16th Currie Cup final on Saturday. This is the first time these two teams have met in a Currie Cup final, but the 33rd Currie Cup clash between the two teams.

The Cheetahs have played nine of their previous 15 Currie Cup finals in front of their home crowd and celebrated five of the six Currie Cup victories at the Toyota Stadium.

This is the third consecutive time that the Toyota Cheetahs have the privilege of playing in the Currie Cup final in Bloemfontein.

The last Currie Cup final in the Toyota Stadium was on 7 September 2019 against the Lions. Tian Meyer’s team won 31 – 28.
