Oudspringbok asks the big question

Henry

Willie le Roux, the 33-year-old fullback who held up the Webb Ellis trophy with the Springboks in Japan in 2019, is getting married.

Le Roux revealed on Instagram that he and Holly Clare Nichol, who have been together for five years, got engaged on Friday.

Congratulations poured in for the couple from everywhere.

“Finally me chum! Well done. Nice miles for you!” writes singer Arno Jordaan.

Finally strike the sniper the knee. Congratulations you. Blessings in marriage,” adds Stormer Juan de Jongh.

Le Roux became part of the Verblitz set-up in 2019 after playing for Wasps in England for a few seasons. However, the experienced Springbok full-back thanked his Toyota Verblitz teammates and the club’s supporters on Twitter in April this year for an “incredible” four years. Although he has not revealed anything about his future plans, there is speculation in belt telegrams that the Stormers may be lining up to obtain his signature.

Le Roux was born in Stellenbosch and he completed his school career at Paul Roos Gymnasium.

He made his mark in the Springboks’ year-end tour to Europe when he ran with the ball from their own half area along with players like Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Lee Arendse.

Le Roux made his international debut in 2013 against Italy in Durban and he has already represented the Springboks in 83 tests in which he scored 13 tries.

Willie Le Roux & Holly Nichol Congratulations on your engagement ????????We wish you all the love and happiness in your life…May GOD Bless you????????Love you lots❤️
