These three famous faces in Miss. to see SA’s first reality series

The miss SA pageant has just announced that Zozibini Tunzi, former Miss. SA and Miss Universe titleholder Leandie du Randt, actress, presenter and entrepreneur, and Bonang Matheba, radio and TV personality, on their new television show called Crown Chasers will be seen.

This full-fledged reality series will ensure that fans get a proper look behind the Miss. will get the SA competition’s screens and will be able to see first-hand how the title holder, Ndavi Nokeri’s successor is chosen.

As part of this reality series, contestants will all be together in the Miss. SA headquarters reside, from where they will have to tackle challenges related to the competition’s four pillars, namely duty, championship, empowerment and beauty.

Finalists’ entrepreneurial and business skills will be further tested and they will be asked to find innovative ways to encourage tourism, show support for women-owned businesses, or showcase aspects of their culture or heritage set.

A challenge winner will be selected each week by a judging panel, which will consist of Du Randt, Matheba and a guest judge.

Additionally, at the end of each episode, the judges will vote for one of the 12 finalists, with the seven remaining finalists going through to compete in the live finals on August 13 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria.

Tunzi makes her television series debut as hostess of Crown Chaserswhich starts airing on SABC 3 on Saturday 8 July at 16:00.

“Hosting a TV series for the first time was a wonderful experience. It came as second nature to me, because this show is about a world I am very familiar with. What made it even more fulfilling was being a part of building it from the ground up, taking every step from an executive producing perspective.”

She believes that viewers will feel included by the show.

“I think everyone who is a fan should Crown Chasers look. I think so many people wonder how the process works to become a Miss. to choose SA, and now they will finally be able to have a complete picture. When your favorite contestant Miss. South Africa, it will feel as if you have walked every step with her and learned what kind of woman she is.”

Du Randt recounts her experience as a presenter Love Island South Africa helped her better understand the pressures of reality television.

“Audiences will love the reality and all the behind-the-scenes activities of Crown Chasers. The show will also help them get to know and understand the finalists on a deeper level, and also respect what they have to go through to win the crown.”

As a judge, Du Randt is looking for a winner who is truly “Miss. SA feeling” radiates when she walks into the room.

“I am looking for someone who can be the best version of herself at all times, someone who is unforgettable, has a presence and has a purpose in her heart to serve and lead the country.”

Matheba, who has had an exceptional career in radio and television, says she is looking for someone who can play an ambassadorial role, who is an advocate for social justice and who can be a spokesperson for the country’s youth.

“I believe the woman who ultimately wins was born to Miss. to be SA. It is now our responsibility to identify her.”

Matheba described Crown Chasers as a “fresh, new perspective on beauty pageants” and believes it is something that challenges the status quo.

“The world is changing. Beauty pageants, their rules and the women who take part in them are changing. Crown Chasers is going to be a great empowering program for young women, and I hope they tune in and watch it and find inspiration every week.”
