TV farmer (36) dies suddenly

Ignus Ferreira, a farmer from Delareyville in the North West, who participated in the kykNET partner search series in 2015 Farmer looking for a wife participated, passed away on Sunday.

He was 36 years old.

Ignus’ sister, Cornél, as well as his brother-in-law, Roean Bezuidenhout, confirmed the news to RNews.

According to Roean, it looks like Ignus had a heart attack.

“The information available to the family at this stage indicates that Ignus had a heart attack,” Bezuidenhout told RNews.

Cornél told RNews that her brother’s death was a great shock to the family and that a sad time lay ahead for them.

“My little brother is in heaven; he got his wings on Sunday morning around 08:45,” she said emotionally.

“It is a bit difficult at the moment, but we are grateful for all the good times that were there and all the beautiful memories. He was a popular man who left deep traces in many people’s hearts and made a difference wherever he went.

“We will always cherish it and continue it, a part of him is still with us, and it is our responsibility to make a difference where he finished. He finished on earth, God needed him.”

Funeral arrangements for Ignus have not yet been announced.

In 2015, Ignus joined the eighth season of Farmer looking for a wife participated. He was the farmer who received the most letters during that season.
