50 for Faf, but RCB are struggling

Faf du Plessis led from the front, but the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) still lost badly against the Mumbai Indians in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

Du Plessis, who holds the captaincy reins of RCB, smashed 61 runs from 40 deliveries and his team was able to score 196/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

However, Jasprit Bumrah excelled with his five wickets for Mumbai and he often put the batsmen under pressure with his great streaking deliveries.

After that, the Indians’ batting machine moved away at the speed of light with Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav providing a kaleidoscope of colorful boundary hits.

There were still 27 deliveries left in the match when Hardik Pandya sealed the match with a six for his team.

According to Du Plessis, his team just didn’t have enough runs on the scoreboard; especially because RCB’s bowlers are struggling to get up to speed this year.

“Mumbai’s batsmen immediately had us on the back foot and they did not struggle with their timing at all. We should have hit 220 runs; A score of just over 190 runs is just not good enough,” said the former Protea captain.
