NMMU urges students to apply for Fee Adjustment Grant

"All students who fall within this cohort, who have not yet done so, should apply in order to be considered for the grant, which effectively covers the 8% difference between the 2016 and 2017 fees," the university said.

"First time entering students from Quintile 1, 2 and 3 schools, as well as all students that applied to NSFAS, do not need to apply."

The University said that it will be able to also determine, from these applications, how many returning students would have been eligible for the 2016 Zero EFC and 2016 NMMU Missing Middle concessions, but either did not apply or did not qualify in 2016.

"This will assist the University in determining the actual number of students. Management will then do an analysis as at the close of business on Wednesday, 1 March 2017, which is the cut-off date for this analysis," the NMMU explained.

Students are therefore urged to apply for the grant on the following link: http://financialaid.nmmu.ac.za

The grant application process closes on 31 March 2017.
