Joubertina man appeared in court for murder

A 22-year-old suspect of the Ludwig farm murder case will remain in custody until Friday, 2 November, when he is due to reappear in the Joubertina Magistrate's Court for a bail application after he made a brief appearance at the same court on Monday.

"The suspect, Jason Witbooi, briefly appeared at the Joubertina Magistrate's Court on charges of murder, but his case was postponed to Friday, 2 November 2018 for a bail application," said police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli.

Suspect allegedly killed cattle farmer, Norman Ludwig

"Witbooi is accused of attacking and killing a retired cattle farmer, Norman Ludwig (69) on Friday, 05 October 2018, at his Valleisig farm about 10km outside of Joubertina."

Witbooi was nabbed on Friday  in Louterwater, Joubertina, by a team of detectives assigned to the case.
