Suspect's 15-year housebreaking career ended by alert Walmer police

A 45-year-old man is expected in court soon after he was arrested at the Kragga Kamma Spar by members of SAPS Walmer.

"It is alleged that while members were patrolling, they noticed a suspicious looking person," said police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.

"The person was taken to the police station for profiling and further questioning.

"The suspect is wanted on seven cases of theft out of motor vehicle allegedly committed in the Mount Road, Humewood, Walmer, and Kabega Park areas."

15-year crime career comes to an end

She said that the crimes were committed from 2003 to 2018.

"The suspect also has a string of previous convictions  of housebreaking, theft, possession of housebreaking implements, contempt of court  and possession of drugs."

He was detained and is expected to appear in court soon.
