King Williams Town police arrest two after kidnapping victim found murdered

Zwelitsha - A major breakthrough was made by Zwelitsha Detectives following the kidnapping case of a 38-year-old male on 30 August 2019 from Kuwait Location, outside King Williams Town.

"Police managed to arrest two suspects, aged 26 and 36 years old, after they received information about the people that kidnapped the 38-year-old male," said police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa.

"Through thorough investigation police obtained further information that led to the body of a male in the bushes at Mdingi Location yesterday.

"Detectives were assisted by East London Search and Rescue Team and body was recovered.

"DNA analysis will also be done to establish the true identity of the bones as the face was beyond recognition."

Capt Mawisa said that two suspects were arrested and one suspect is still at large.

"Police investigation continues. These suspects will appear at the Zwelitsha Magistrate's Court soon for kidnapping and murder."

King Williams Town SAPS Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga, commended the Detective for the tireless job, which led to the recovery of the body and the arrest of the suspects.

He condemned these remorseless actions and ensured that police will continue to create a safer and secured environment for all.
