Alleged Upstand Dogs gang member arrested after appearing at court to support fellow gangsters
A 26-year-old suspected gang member is expected in court on Monday after he was arrested by Port Elizabeth police at the Port Elizabeth new Law Courts precinct on Thursday where he had apparently gone to show support for alleged fellow gangsters, who were at the courts on routine remand hearings.
The suspect, beleived to be affiliated with the Upstand Dogs gang member faces two charges of attempted murder.
It is alleged that on the 16th of November, the suspected, who was accompanied by two accomplices, fired at a 19-year-old victim and his two friends in Helenvale. However, noone was injured in the incident.
A few days later, on the 22nd of November, the suspect allegedly fired a 28-year-old man again in Helenvale.
According to Port Elizabeth police, he was arrested by officers from the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit, who were also at the court.
