Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO, Kevin Hustler stepping down end of April

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber’s Board of Directors on Wednesday announced that the Chamber's long-serving Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Hustler, will be stepping down at the end of April 2017.

"This will allow for rotational stewardship in the Business Chamber lead role, while securing renewed input in support of operational objectives that both the Business Chamber and Hustler believe are important for the Nelson Mandela By Business Chamber and the City," the Board said in a statement. 

The Business Chamber Boardexpress its gratitude to Hustler for his contribution to the Business Chamber and the City. 

"He has forged valuable relationships with the Business Chamber’s members and its various stakeholders.

"Under his leadership and with input and strategic direction from the Chamber’s Board of Directors, he has played an important role in several mega-projects within the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropole," it said.

"He was instrumental in rebranding and repositioning the Business Chamber from the previous Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber. He has also been actively involved in lobbying and advocating for the success of various projects and objectives identified by the Board as being key for the City."

During his eight year tenure with the Business Chamber, Hustler has received various awards, both in his personal capacity and on behalf of the Business Chamber. 

"His contribution to the City has been recognised by the Nelson Mandela Bay University, Rotary International and PMR Africa. This recognition is testament to both his success and his commitment to the Business Chamber and the City," the Board added.

"The Board wishes to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to Hustler for his many years of dedicated service. Hustler has indicated that he intends pursuing other professional and business interests and the Board wishes him well in his future endeavours."

In the interim, Prince Matonsi, Operations Manager, will serve as Acting CEO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

"The Board will initiate a recruitment process to identify a suitable permanent successor to ensure the continuation of the Chamber’s drive to support and strengthen the local economy."
