Romantic river views: Peace and tranquility in the heart of East London
One of my favourite places to stay in East London is 36 on Bonza Boutique Guesthouse, which is in Beacon Bay. When I heard that they had recently acquired a sister property, I leapt at the chance to visit during a recent business trip.
The River View Bed and Breakfast is located on the Nahoon River’s edge in the quaint ‘village’ of Abbotsford. This newly opened and tastefully decorated B&B offers a quiet refuge for couples, families, business people or sport travellers.
Their friendly staff are always happy to assist wherever possible and willing to go the extra smile in order to make your stay a memorable one.
Rooms offered include three luxury and two standard units, as well as a self-catering option, all equipped with free Wi-Fi, television with selected DSTV channels and all the essential assortment of amenities.
Breakfast offerings consist of a selection of cereals, fruit salads, tasty yoghurts, fresh juice, generous full English breakfasts and delicious machine coffee – all you need to tackle the day ahead. Those staying overnight will be happy to know that dinners can also be arranged.
In addition, I also discovered that for their guests’ peace of mind, River View will be working with a local treatment spa from April first – thus adding another wonderful element to their existing offering.
River View is perfectly situated in the serenity of the river bank, but you are never far from all you need. Within walking distance you’ll find the Abbotsford Arms, Pedro’s Pizzeria and Breakfast Deli, Captain Haddock’s Fish ‘n Chips and the local Spar.
A short drive will get you to various Bonza Bay shopping centres and, of course, the Hemingways Hotel, Casino and Shopping Centre. Close to all major routes and the N2 Highway, you’re never far from where you’d like to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed my business week at River View and can happily recommend it to all looking for a welcoming home-from-home stay with a country feel.
